Dragons Gold by Bard’s Tale Beer
First off smelling this beer it has a very strong aroma of a scottich ale but it’s acctully a rather light beer. Its not just light in apperance eather, its actually extremely light, but its more european light rather than the american pilsiners i’d usually think of when i think of a really light beer. This beer does taste really european, it tastes like cheaper belgian beer in belgium. This brew has no aftertaste, actually it feels like the taste drops off early in it too, i drink it, i get the hops a quick hint of malt then its all gone, it almost seems like this beer is watery. I do feel like i’m being harsh though, this isn’t a bad beer at all, its just really light, if you want to drink quite a few beers in one night this beer might be a good choice because its so light. For me i just feel like its too light, it just doesn’t do it for me.

2Below Ale by New Belgium
Its the best time of year again for beer lovers, all the octoberfest martzens and the fantastic winter warmers are hitting the shelfs again.
2Below is a really nice ale, its well balanced but still intresting to drink. The hops are mild, theres no real strong amount of bitterness in this brew however supriseily theres not really a strong amount of malt eather to cancel out the bitterness, its just mild on its own. This brew has a mild roasted taste thats really just fantastic. The roasted flavor really takes care of the bitterness in a very unique way. This beer tastes like its ALOT darker than it actually is, if i didn’t actually see the color of the beer just going by taste it would remind me of a really light porter. This beer also has a really nice aftertaste that again reminds me of a much darker beer, its roasted and sweet and i just love it.

American Ale by Budweiser
I’m back after my few long break from doing reviews. Work and school have kept me from making any posts.
I’ve seen this advertised on tv alot lately so i decided i’d pick one up, after all shock top was also made by bud and that wasn’t bad. American ale is a very smooth and mellow ale. It really doesn’t have much complexity or a whole lot of flavor coming from any direction. It comes on with a very small amount of bitterness thats acctully kinda sour but is quickly killed by the malt. The malt in this one is good and it does seem to linger with a really mild after taste, its pretty nice. The only issue i can really find with this beer is right after the malt comes on theres a bit of a grainy taste like PBR. This is a very mild ale, theres nothing that really jumps out at you. I think one word could easily sum up the way i feel about this one: Boreing. It is really balanced and i’ll give it that but it just doesn’t excite me.
