Hibernation Ale by Great Divide Brewing

PhotobucketOn the label it says its dry hopped balanced with malty richness. Lets find out what Great Divide’s take is on winter ale.

After the first taste I was extremely surprised how thick and malty it was, with a hoppy finish. The aftertaste actually lingers for a wile, so if you like hops you’ll be happy, but its not a bad hop taste I think. This is a very balanced smooth and heavy ale. The hoppy finish makes you feel like a man when you drink it. The thickness really satisfies. What I find amazing is for this style of ale (which is either over powered with it’s own alcohol percent or is completely over powered with hops) is completely smooth and drinkable, and has the proper amount of malts to balance out the hops. I’m not sure if this is a seasonal but if it is I hope I get to try it again before it disappears forever. This really is a proper ale.
